Inside The Summit League
Now in its second season, “Inside The Summit League” is hosted by Tom Nieman. Visit to view the list of channels and times or to watch online. This week’s show highlights fall sports action, has an interview with IUPUI Director of Athletics Mike Moore and the campus spotlight features IUPUI.

Cross Country
All seven league teams are in action this weekend … In the latest USTFCCCA Regional Rankings, the South Dakota State men moved up one spot to No. 10 in the Midwest Region, while IUPUI’s men’s team is No. 10 in the Great Lakes Region, which marks the Jaguars’ first-ever regional ranking … On the women’s side in the Midwest Region, North Dakota State is ranked No. 8 and South Dakota is at No. 14.

Seven league men’s golf squads are in action this week … North Dakota State, Omaha, South Dakota and Western Illinois are all competing in the Maverick Collegiate Invitational, which is hosted by Omaha … On the women’s side, North Dakota State, South Dakota and South Dakota State are taking part in the Xavier LPGA Invitational, while Fort Wayne, IUPUI and Western Illinois are at The Preview … Denver is also in action at the Schooner Fall Classic.

Men’s Soccer
Denver makes its Summit League debut Saturday when the Pioneers play at Fort Wayne … Two additional Summit League matches highlight the Saturday schedule – Eastern Illinois at Western Illinois and Omaha at IUPUI.

This weekend marks the second week of league play as all eight teams are in action … Four teams are undefeated in league play, South Dakota and Denver are 2-0, while Western Illinois and North Dakota State are 1-0 … Three of the four undefeated teams will face each other this weekend, North Dakota State hosts South Dakota on Friday and Denver on Saturday … Denver’s Brea Muhle is ranked fifth in the NCAA in hitting percentage (.480) … A pair of Summit Leaguers are ranked in the NCAA’s top five for active career leaders in kills per set,  USD’s Kendall Kritenbrink is third (4.29 kills per set) and IPFW’s Emily Spencer is fourth (4.09 kills per set).

Women’s Soccer
Denver is ranked No. 16 in this week’s NSCAA/Continental Tire National Poll and No. 10 in the NCAA RPI report … League teams are a combined 35-34-12 (.506) … Summit League teams are .500 or better vs. 11 of the 17 conferences in which they have competed against this season … League play begins this week as all eight teams are in action … North Dakota State and South Dakota State travel to IUPUI and Western Illinois … First place Denver is at Fort Wayne, while South Dakota, currently in second place, is at Omaha … After Denver’s 1-0 win over No. 17 BYU last week, senior midfielder Nicholette DiGiacomo was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week and was named a Primetime Performer by

Swimming & Diving
The 2013-14 season opens on Friday as Western Illinois hosts Saint Louis … League newcomer Denver was picked as the preseason favorite to win the swimming and diving titles.
